Creation Process
Starting from a block, I created the patterns. For the dress, I wanted to create soft lines and elegant curves to portray the beauty of flowers. With twisted straps and the slight cowl at the neck, the dress was cut on the bias. Later, I ran into some issues with the plisse fabric and how that was being sewn in because of some stretch that had happened in the front because of the bias cut. After hand-draping the plisses fabric I created a small facing and hand stitched with an invisible stitch the whole curve.
For the pants, I sewed three welted pockets, and a concealed zipper fly closed by buttons. Working with the plisse proved to be a little difficult to sew, especially along the side seams. In the end, I figured out how to make the plisses flow seamlessly, sewing inside on of the pleats.
